You’ve just had the wedding of the century and you and your new spouse have given yourself a few days just to unwind (and recover!) Now you’re ready for your honeymoon – but hang on – you’re still so exhausted! If anybody ever said that wedding planning didn’t take everything out of you, they were quite wrong!
When you’re planning and preparing for your honeymoon in the months leading up to your wedding, don’t forget that this will also be a vacation where you and your honey will finally get a chance to relax and rejuvenate yourselves after running around and creating the perfect wedding. Don’t forget to fit in a spa day, or of course, a day doing nothing on the beach but drinking in the sun. And absolutely, don’t forget to prepare for your alone time in your hotel room, doing nothing but loving each other and getting to know one another all over again!
Consider in your planning stages what you are going to bring with you to ensure that your luxurious hotel experience is just a lot of R and R. Scented candles made of natural soy wax smells scrumptious and provides aromatherapy. I like to use Pacifica Soy Candles (the Hawaiian Ruby Guava is divine). In addition, bring along some natural healing stones, are available in all shapes and sizes and can be found at your local alternative health, drug and food stores. Stores that carry these types of stones often have a little leaflet listing all their healing properties. When the wedding planning stress becomes overbearing, take some time out with your darling betrothed to wander over to a healing centre and peruse the variety of jewel-like rock crystals that have been handed down from the wisdom of our ancestors. Gather a couple of stones that are significant to you and your partner and the type of rejuvenation you are looking for, to spread around your honeymoon space, inviting grounding, healing, intimacy and rejuvenation.
Sound a little too hokey for you? Give it a try! Here is a list of some special stones, perfect for the relaxing, rejuvenating, and romantic honeymoon:
Amethyst: This is the beautiful purple stone known for its healing abilities. It is also used to bring balance, bring inner peace and purify the blood. Keep a small stone under your pillow for a restful sleep or put it by (or in) your bathtub for a romantic and balancing bubble bath.
Flourite: This extremely powerful stone comes in a variety of colors from soft blue and green to deep red and purple. It is said to improve mental clarity and memory, calm chaotic and stressful energy, and enable you to move to higher plains of reality. Put one on your table out on the terrace of your hotel room as you stare out at the ocean together, sipping wine and having one of the best talks you’ve ever had with your honey.
Moonstone: Marriages are not just about diamonds! Another transparent and beautiful stone is the crystal-like moonstone, associated with, well, the moon! This stone is perfect for your honeymoon as it is said to symbolize rebirth and new beginnings. It is particularly a stone for women as it provides feminine harmony and fosters ancient wisdom, insight and love. It acts to create balance in relationships.
Tiger’s Eye: This delicate stone, marbled in orange, brown, black and gold, is said to bring male and female energies together in harmony. If men are from Mars and women are from Venus, we all need one of these stones to aid in the stability and harmony of our communications. It is said to invite order from chaos. What more do you need?
Carnelian: Last but not least, you might need one of these: the carnelian is the stone associated with birth, creativity and reproduction. What better time than on your honeymoon to start a new family? This deep red stone aids in tranquility regarding the cycle of life.
